If you’ve been victimized by financial fraud or suspect you may be, report it immediately.
Report fraud using the Commission's Submit a Complaint tool. The tool will accept your report or point you to the proper organization for your report—depending on the type of fraud you’ve experienced.
If someone has approached you or someone you know with a scam, report it immediately, even if you recognize it as a scam. Reporting it could save someone else from losing their life savings.
Reporting fraud helps stop scammers and protects others in your community. Even if you didn’t lose money, your report can make a real difference. Scammers count on people staying silent. Speaking up helps break that cycle and keeps more people safe.
Don’t let fear or embarrassment keep you from reporting fraud or abuse. Criminals prey on your emotions. They exploit fears, hoping fears or feelings of embarrassment will prevent you from notifying authorities.
The Commission administers and enforces legislation in the mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, collection agencies, cooperatives, and a wide range of other consumer legislation. If your complaint relates to an area outside of the Commission’s regulated areas, or if there is an organization that can provide additional support, we may refer you to the appropriate reporting agency or organization.
